Food and Beverage Policy

Patrons of the Rhode Island Convention Center are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverages into the premises.

Metal Detectors

Walk thru metal detectors may be used during certain events. Similar to procedures used at the airport, all patrons will walk through a metal detector prior to gaining access to the venue.  If needed, security will perform pat downs on patrons in addition to the metal detectors. For events using Metal Detectors, the Rhode Island Convention Center recommends that patrons should plan to arrive earlier than normal to allow for this enhanced security process.

Re-Entry Policy

Depending on the event, patrons may not be allowed to exit and re-enter the Rhode Island Convention Center. Please check upon arrival if the event is allowing re-entry.

Smoking Policy

The Rhode Island Convention Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited and violations will result in ejection from the venue without a refund.

Certified service animals for guests with disabilities are welcome at the Rhode Island Convention Center and must remain on leash or in a harness. All other animals are prohibited.
