Rhode Island Convention Center Building Policies:
As part of an effort to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and tenants, the Rhode Island Convention Center management has added numerous safety and protective measures to our building policies. With strict enforcement of these new additions along with our existing policies, the Rhode Island Convention Center can provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our guests. As such, no exceptions to the following policies will be made.

The Rhode Island Convention Center offers convenient facilities and features for persons with disabilities and is committed to accommodating the needs of individuals with disabilities for all events in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Alcohol Policy

- To purchase alcoholic beverages, a patron must present a valid US driver’s license; Passport, US liquor ID, or Military ID, which indicates the patron to be at least 21 years of age. (Duplicate licenses, expired licenses, damaged licenses and/or identifications will not be accepted.)
- Any patron in the possession of alcoholic beverages on premises may be requested to produce identification, which must satisfy the foregoing requirements.
- No refunds will be offered for confiscated beverages.
- Any patron who presents false identification or who passes alcohol to a minor may be subject to ejection.
- We will not serve more than two alcoholic beverages to a patron at one time, and we reserve the right to limit service to one drink per patron.
- We will not serve any patron whom we believe to be intoxicated.
- Alcoholic beverages may not be taken into or removed from these premises. Any patron in the possession of alcoholic beverages not obtained on premises will be subject to ejection.

Baggage Policy

Bags will be permitted throughout the facility. Guests entering the Rhode Island Convention Center are subject to search at the discretion of Management.

Firearms Policy

The only persons allowed to bring firearms into the Rhode Island Convention Center are credentialed local, state and federal law enforcement officers with proper identification (active and retired). The Rhode Island Convention Center does not have a weapons check-in. We will not take possession of firearms under any circumstances.

Food and Beverage Policy

Patrons of the Rhode Island Convention Center are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverages into the premises.

Metal Detectors

Walk thru metal detectors may be used during certain events. Similar to procedures used at the airport, all patrons will walk through a metal detector prior to gaining access to the venue. If needed, security will perform pat downs on patrons in addition to the metal detectors. For events using Metal Detectors, the Rhode Island Convention Center recommends that patrons should plan to arrive earlier than normal to allow for this enhanced security process.

Prohibited Items

Drugs, weapons of any kind, or laser pointers are strictly prohibited at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

Re-Entry Policy

Depending on the event, patrons may not be allowed to exit and re-enter the Rhode Island Convention Center. Please check upon arrival if the event is allowing re-entry.

Smoking Policy

The Rhode Island Convention Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited and violations will result in ejection from the venue without a refund.

Animal Policy

Certified service animals for guests with disabilities are welcome at the Rhode Island Convention Center and must remain on leash or in a harness. All other animals are prohibited.
