The Rhode Island Convention Center Authority purchased the Dunkin' Donuts Center from the City of Providence in December 2005. The Authority has embarked on a major renovation of the arena to transform the facility into a state-of-the-art arena.

As part of the renovation program, the Providence Memorial Honor Roll and the Congressional Medal of Honor Wall are being re-located. The Authority’s Board of Commissioners recognizes the significance of these historical monuments and is committed to ensuring that its appearance will be improved with restoration and relocation to a more prominent site.

In the process of soliciting advice from veterans and local officials, it was suggested that the Providence Memorial Honor Roll be moved across the street, allowing it to remain within LaSalle Square. The City of Providence plans to redesign LaSalle Square, allowing for improved pedestrian walkways and traffic flow. This area will enhance the memorial’s visibility and provide a more accessible site location for visitors.

The Authority is working with the Mayor and the Department of Planning and Development to solicit feedback and recommendations from local veterans on this important project.
