NEW ATTENDANCE RECORD SET FOR 2007 JLC LIVE TRADESHOW AT RHODE ISLAND CONVENTION CENTER
Providence, RI - (March 29, 2007) - More than 9,000 attendees descended on the Rhode Island
Convention Center for JLC LIVE last week, setting a new attendance record for the residential
construction show. JLC (Journal of Light Construction) LIVE, held at the center
March 21-24, has been an annual event since 2000. While final numbers will be tallied in the next few weeks, attendance was up approximately 10% from 2006.
In 2006, JLC LIVE was named one of the "50 fastest-growing shows" in the U.S.
by Tradeshow Week. Utilizing all 100,000 GSF of exhibit space at the Rhode Island Convention
Center, in addition to the ballrooms and meeting rooms, the show brings thousands of professionals to downtown Providence each year. The show is produced by Hanley Wood Exhibitions, based in Dallas, Texas.
"We have high expectations for our tradeshows around the U.S., and our annual JLC LIVE
tradeshow in Rhode Island is one of our most successful shows. Our longstanding partnership
with the Rhode Island Convention Center is a testament to their commitment to providing
high quality services and value for their clients," said Galen Poss, President, Hanley Wood Exhibitions.
"JLC LIVE is an important show for the Rhode Island Convention Center and for the local economy. We are certainly proud to be associated with the expansion of this show over the past seven years and look forward to hosting JLC LIVE for years to come," said Tim Muldoon, General Manager, Rhode Island Convention Center.
The Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that JLC LIVE generated 1,200 room nights in Providence during the tradeshow.
