RHODE ISLAND CONVENTION CENTER COMPLEX ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES, PROMOTION
Providence, RI - The Rhode Island Convention Center Complex, managed by SMG, recently added five new members to its staff: Nancy Beauchamp, Assistant General Manager-Finance; Pascal Leffray, Sous Chef; Beth Johnson, Staff Accountant; Amanda Marzullo, Sales Manager; and Alicia Fay, Catering Sales Manager. The Convention Center also announced the promotion of Annie Anthony to Director of Event Services.
- Nancy Beauchamp was recently hired as Assistant General Manager of Finance. Beauchamp comes to the Rhode Island Convention Center Complex with more than 24 years of experience in facility management, most previously as the Regional Director of Finance for SMG and for the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts. She will oversee all financial aspects of the complex, which includes the Dunkin' Donuts Center, the Convention Center, and the two parking garages within the complex.
- The Rhode Island Convention Center's newly hired Sous Chef, Pascal Leffray, brings a wealth of experience to enhance the dining experience for functions at the complex. A native of France, Leffray is perhaps best known to Rhode Islanders as the former proprietor of Chez Pascal on Hope Street in Providence. An apprentice at Nogent le Roi of Paris from 1976-1979, he has worked in restaurants in Paris, New York, and Cancun.
- Beth Johnson will be responsible for assisting the Finance Director in managing Rhode Island Convention Center Complex finances. Johnson comes from BankBoston's Trust Operations Department where she served as a staff accountant for the last nine years. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where she attained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.
- Amanda Marzullo returns to the Convention Center after getting her professional start here in the food and beverage department seven years ago. She joined the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2001 as National Sales Manager. As Sales Manager for the Convention Center, Marzullo will handle corporate business bookings and target new opportunities for the center. She received a Bachelor's degree in communications from Rhode Island College.
- Alicia Fay was recently hired as Sales Manager to help grow the food and beverage operation at the Convention Center. Previously, Fay worked as the events coordinator at the Capitol Grille in downtown Providence. Fay holds a Bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Rhode Island.
- Annie Anthony was recently promoted to Director of Event Services for the Convention Center. Anthony joined the staff in 2000 has received successive promotions since that time, most recently serving as Sales Manager. In her new role, Anthony is responsible for managing functions, exhibits and tradeshows hosted in the center, as well as the 2,400-car parking garage. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in Spanish.
