Accessibility

ADA Compliant Facility

The Rhode Island Convention Center offers convenient facilities and features for persons with disabilities and is committed to accommodating the needs of individuals with disabilities for all events in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Elevators

Elevators are conveniently located on all levels of building, with a wheelchair lift to the Mezzanine level.

Parking

The Rhode Convention Center parking facilities have specifically marked parking spaces for the physically challenged patrons. Van parking for disabled patrons is located at the north end of the parking garage across from the North Garage entrance.

Facility

Curbside drop-off for wheelchair and sidewalk curb cut-outs are located at the Rotunda plaza entrance, Sabin Street main entrance and West sidewalk near DDC/service road between the two buildings. 

The facility is accessible the adjacent Omni Hotel which also connects via a sky-bridge to the Providence Place Mall. The facility is also accessible to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center via a sky-bridge.

Power-assisted doors are located at all entrances for easy access in and out of the building.

Restrooms

All restroom facilities are ADA accessible.

Wheelchairs

A limited number of wheelchairs are available to patrons who need them.

Hearing Devices

Special hearing devices can be hooked in to your sound system. Please advise the AV company (Ambient Sound) as well as your Event Manager of these needs in advance.

Service Animals

Service animals accompanying guests with disabilities are welcome at the Rhode Island Convention Center with proper supervision. Service animals must remain on a leash or on a harness at all times.

Food & Beverage

Food and beverage areas are accessible with individuals with disabilities, including food courts.

If you have attendees with special needs please let your Event Manager know as early as possible so any necessary accommodations can be made.
